A Few Kid Funnies

I need to jot these down before I forget them. :)

Maggie was really out of sorts the other day. Grumbling, crying, melting down...not a happy camper. I was asking her what would make her feel better, suggesting a snack, a drink, a book, her Strawberry Shortcake toys...she gave me a grumpy no for all of them. Finally I said, "Do you just need a hug?" That finally got a "Yeah" from her. She climbed onto my lap and snuggled in. After a few minutes she popped up and said in a chipper voice, "I think I'm happy now!" and ran off to play. What a simple solution. Who doesn't need a cuddle when they're having a rough day?


These next two center around the fact that Will has decided he wants to be a golfer for Halloween. He said, "Because that's a sport, and I love sports!" Ainsley piped in, "Golf isn't a sport! It's just a game!" That earned a giggle from me and a glare from Daddy, who is indeed a fan of the "sport" of golf.

We're going for the Bagger Vance look, and key to the ensemble is a flat cap. Will and I looked all over creation yesterday for a kid-sized beret. We finally found one - at the 11th store we tried. Will put it up on the counter and the following conversation occurred:

Clerk: Oh, are you going to wear this hat?
Will: It's for my Halloween costume! I'm going to be a golfer!
C: Ooh, like Tiger Woods?
W: No, we don't like Tigers!
C: Oh, well he has done some bad things lately...
W, talking over her: We like K-STATE!!! (complete with a fist into the air)

Have we raised a fan or what?
